ABOUT LAUGH MORE, GIVE MORE - COMEDY NIGHT FUNDRAISERS
The Laugh More, Give More, Comedy Night event was founded in 2014. Last year, Meghan Riley and Carmyn Aleshka co-hosted and raised $50,000 for two incredible causes. This year, the dynamic duo along with The Upside Down Tree team have set the goal for 2019 to raise $75,000 for two important mental health non-profits in the city.
To date, Laugh More, Give More, Comedy Events have raised more than $140,000 for extraordinary organizations. Past recipients include: The Fort Garry Women’s Centre, the Women’s Health Clinic, the Bravestone Centre, the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba and KIDTHINK Children’s Mental Health Centre Inc. The 2018 event hosted more than 300 attendees and that number is anticipated to be even higher this year!
This year’s Laugh More, Give More Event has already secured a sponsor that will cover ALL costs of food, drinks and the venue; that sponsor is Paradigm Insurance Inc. This generous donation makes it such that every dollar raised will go directly to this year’s chosen fund recipients: KIDTHINK Children’s Mental Health Centre Inc. and The Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba.

Late in 2016 Rollin Penner decided to move his performing career from the musical stage to the comedy stage and since then he has been gaining a reputation across Manitoba as a snappy dresser with a set of killer punch lines. In 2018 he made his third appearance at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, his second appearance in the Winnipeg Comedy Showcase and placed second in a Rumor’s Comedy Club contest for local comedians.
Danielle is a promising up-and-comer in the Winnipeg comedy scene. Fueled by equal parts anxiety and caffeine, she remains convinced that the former has nothing to do with the latte.
Danielle has had the honour of appearing in the Winnipeg Comedy Showcase, Winnipeg Fringe Festival and Winnipeg Comedy Festival. She is extremely excited to have the opportunity to bring her unique blend of storytelling and silliness to a stage near you!
Andy has been making a name for himself with his not too dirty, not too clean, but always honest, style of comedy. Andy can be seen performing all over Winnipeg and touring across Canada. He has made multiple appearances at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival as well as the Oddblock festival.
In 2015, Andy won the "Winnipeg's funniest person with a day job" contest at Rumors comedy club, where he is now a regular host and headliner. Andy was a writer/actor for Shaw T.V. The Week Thus Far.
